Surely there is no more famous marijuana strain than White Widow. It emerged in the early 1990s from a pure Sativa strain from Brazil crossed with an Indica hybrid collected by Shantibaba in India. Nowadays this strain is the result of years of selecting and crossing descendants of the first WW. Each generation obtains plants with higher resin content. A large amount of trichomes on the buds is one of the characteristics that has made it so famous. This variety is able to reach a THC percentage of over 20%. Today almost all seedbanks have White Widow seeds due to their popularity.
It is a cannabis strain both for new and experienced growers. It grows up to 1m indoors, reaching 2m outdoors. It is a strong and resistant cannabis plant and it’s rather easy to grow. WW does not smell extremely strong when it is in a bud, so it is good for indoor cultivation without a quality odor filter. It is one of the most resistant varieties to pests and powdery mildew. Its production ranges between 55-65 gr/plant indoors. Outdoors it can easily exceed 900 gr/plant. Cannabis White Widow, when grown outdoors, develops much better in a dry and sunny climate or under the protection of a greenhouse, as they are sensitive to the negative effects of humidity.
Many new marijuana hybrids emerged thanks to the White Widow. Its genetics has helped to appear other legends such as Blue Widow, White Russian, and White Rhino. But many growers still prefer growing the original WW strain.
White Widow effect
Its effect is typical of a Sativa-dominant plant, even though it’s half Indica. The high goes through euphoria and laughter and then it ends in a soft relaxation. White Widow cannabis also produces an intense cerebral effect with a desire to think and create thanks to her strong Sativa influence. It has medicinal effects such as reducing anxiety, stimulating appetite, relaxing tension in the body, and getting rid of insomnia. It has a strong flavor with light sweet citrus and spicy touch.
